Full Bio
Temple Scene’s atmospheric pop deftly mixes infectious melodies with swirling layers of electronica and guitars.
Philippe Rose and Ric Levy have been lucky enough to learn from some of the greatest musicians of our time. When their friends were out getting respectable jobs, they were making tea and carrying equipment in some of the world’s most prestigious recording studios, desperate to watch their idols at work and understand what makes their music so special. As the duo gained experience, they each worked their way up to record for the likes of U2, The Verve and Bassment Jaxx.
But they’ve never lost the original passion for writing and performing their own songs and they spend every minute of their spare time applying what they have learned in their tiny home studio.
2008 saw Temple Scene’s first ever releases, in a year of musical discovery for the duo. Each new song was a waypoint on their journey as they developed their musical personality, from the irresistible pop of their first E.P., Another Town, to the dark, magnetic electronica that dominates Sektor.
In July 2009 they released their first full-length album, ‘A Good Day To Disappear’, 11 new songs that draw on themes as wide as border escape and alien abduction to enfold the listener in a world that is both poignant and intensely personal.
