Full Bio
Rote Teufel started in 2007, when lead guitarist of M.A.G.E Peter Thomson left as he decided the music he was creating was too common. He left becoming very close friends with Kitch; a techie from M.A.G.E. Kitch had been playing the bass guitar for a year, so Peet was never let down for a friendly jam. After a month of jamming, Peet and Kitch ended up writing a song together on a camp in the middle of nowhere. The song was was noticed by other campers around them and became very catchy. The titled it ´Let Me In´ and continued writing more. It never crossed their minds to start a band until Peet thought he would like to hear the sound of ´Let Me In´ with a beat. Kitch immediatly recommended a drummer who he had played with before in a high school project. Peet liked the sound of this, so they went to his house. This is when Alex Sugden was introduced to the song. He was amazed with what he heard, then later on that day the song was completed. The project kept on going as a fund raising idea for the Sea Cadet Corps. This then drifted away from their minds as the trio wanted to continue as a real performance. This is where they thought of the name ROTE TEUFEL, it titles from what the germans called the Parachute Regiment in WW2. It means ´Red Devils´ as this is the colour of the regiments Berets. ´Rote Teufel´ has remained their original title and would be difficult to change. Rote Teufel were on a role now, they had written an album worth of songs, and had popular covers. All they needed now was a gig. However, to do the gigs they needed to have a demo, this is when they realised they will have to record their album. So they managed to borrow a 8 Track recorder from Alex´s college. The trio then had been attatched to recording and had lacked in the organisation of gigs. But the band didn´t stop as they created the debut album; ´SEEKING SALVATION´. The album was a hit with friends and fans from M.A.G.E, they couldn´t wait for its release in 2008. However Rote teufel had decided the songs potential wasn´t reaching the full potential. This is where Andy Kelday filled the spot with his axe skills on Saxaphone and clarinet, keyboard and vocals! This oppitunnity could not be avoided. So andy became the new lead vocalist and the guy who does other noises. Rote Teufel has never been better. 2K8 is expected to be a good year to ROTE TEUFEL as many events have been planned in the area.
Short Bio
Rote Teufel was formed in june 2007 . It started when ex M.A.G.E guitarist and frontman Peet Thomson was jamming with ex M.A.G.E techie who played bass in his spare time; Kitch. As the pair progressed they decided they needed a drummer and Alex Sugden was suggeseted by kitch as they had played in bands together before ROTE TEUFEL. During the first rehursal the song ´Let Me In´ was written and Rote Teufel was born. After many reviews and progression ideas; Rote Teufel had decided to bring their music to the fulll potential, they should try a new Vocalist and someone who can do other noises. This is where Andy Kelday filled the spot. They have now progressed and created the Debut album ´Seeking Salvation´. The Gigs are desribed as ´Unexpected´ and ´a fantasctic new revelation of live unsigned peformences´
