Fame Games is not “just a music radio show.” In fact, it’s nothing short of a revolution in how music is selected and promoted today. Fame Games gives the best independent artists valuable A&R opportunities, advice and career guidance, as well as a potentially massive new audience through network radio play based on merit (finally!), compiled daily using a sophisticated song evaluation system.
Fame Games introduces discerning listeners to the very best new music, produced by “undiscovered” independent and “unsigned” artists. Shockingly, the quality of music which reaches the top of the Fame Games charts easily rivals (and often outstrips) the quality of music listeners are force-fed by national network radio and TV.
Fame Games is formatted as an entertaining, daily radio show, with something for everyone. New music is showcased and discussed and put in context for new fans to discover and embrace. The show is a “front” for MMI’s complex song evaluation system which continues to find the very best new artists and songs every day. The show’s host, DJ Crier, is supported by a diversified judging panel which includes accomplished music industry professionals as well as representatives of divergent demographics, in order to best reflect upon any song’s “crossover” potential.
With incisive song analyses, entertaining presenters, frequent world-famous guests on “The Red Carpet” and most importantly showcases of the best music you never knew existed, Fame Games is guaranteed to keep you glued to your radio day in and day out!
Fame Games also features the exclusive “Cowell Factor,” presented by Tony Cowell (Simon’s older, wiser brother and head of CowellMedia). This strategic alliance has nothing to do with the likes of American Idol or X-Factor. In fact, it’s a wholehearted endorsement of something quite opposite. Tony’s come onboard to help Fame Games to discover (and place!) real, un-manufactured world-class musical talent!
Fame Games airs daily through CitadelMedia (ABC) radio networks, as well as on demand, online on the Fame Games and MeerMusic sites and affiliated sites.
Fame Games is the best place for artists and fans to meet, and entertain realistic hopes of saving the world from bad music!

I grew up in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in a middle-class family with working-class Welsh and Irish roots. I attended a mixed comprehensive school which I didn’t enjoy much, being a bit of an oddball and a loner, although I had a few close friends and was quite successful academically, gaining 10 o’levels and 3 a’ levels in the days when that meant something. My ambition in those days was to become a novelist. There were no musical influences other than hymns in church on Sunday and musicals on the TV during my first 13 or so years of life. Our house did not have so much as a radio. However, I remember making up songs from a very young age and would entertain myself in the back of the car on the interminable journeys to see family in South Wales by singing for hours on end. I had piano lessons and violin lessons for a few years as a child but learnt little more than exam techniques and I didn’t pursue those any further. After A’ levels, with no real aim in life and bored with purely academic study, I decided to follow a career in agriculture, mainly because I enjoyed being with animals and working out-of-doors. Music, at this stage, meant singing along to Pink Floyd, David Bowie and various eighties offerings (I was a Goth!). Eventually, fed up with early mornings, animal poo and low earning prospects, I got a job as a lab technician in London, took the vocational exams and worked my way up to a lab manager’s position, first at the University of Oxford and now at the University of Kent. I am missing out details of some very dark years when I was living in tied accommodation, working silly hours and still not making ends meet. I was deeply depressed for a long time and drank and smoked far too much in an attempt to cope with high stress levels and a sense of personal hopelessness. The first album “Singing Solo” draws heavily from that period. During this time, I did join a band – we wrote our own songs (several of which I revived for my own albums) but weren’t terribly good and only performed about 3 times at friends parties and the like. I was then introduced to Long Wittenham folk club and started singing the odd song there on a Wednesday night, a cappela or accompanied by a friend on guitar. I also discovered that a friend I had known for some time (Tom) was an accomplished guitarist, after a beer-fuelled evening in Henley resulted in a singsong. The reaction from listeners was so enthusiastic that we started performing in local pubs etc. although never on a very regular basis. We still get together very occasionally to resurrect out set. I moved to Canterbury 7 years ago. Personally, it was the best move I ever made. My job was far less stressful, I had my own home, I was financially comfortable. I gave up smoking. I went out to buy curtains one day and came home with an electric guitar and a teach-yourself book. Tom and I decided we should record our set for posterity, so we booked in at a local recording studio and recorded a 12 track CD, “About Time”. While we were there I tentatively approached the engineer with a few of my own compositions the recording obsession had begun! In the meantime, I joined a rock band and started performing much heavier material than ever before, such as AC/DC and Black Sabbath, which was fun. When that band died, I joined a rock/blues band for a few years, then sang with an even heavier rock band for a while and have currently cast my lot in with a Pink Floyd tribute band. My third solo album, “Repercussions” was launched in November ’07. There will be more. Who’d have thought.
Short Bio
I am a singer-songwriter, currently based in Canterbury, Kent, although I grew up in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
I have been gigging on and off for about 15 years, first in Oxfordshire and then Kent, as a vocalist in original, pop, blues and rock bands, as half of an acoustic duo and, in the last 5 years or so, as a solo artist, just myself and acoustic guitar. I have performed in pubs, in clubs, at festivals, in restaurants, at private parties, weddings and at open stage nights.
I recorded an album of blues/jazz/easy listening covers with Henley-based guitarist, Tom Corness in early 2004.
In November 2004, I released my first album of original material – “Singing Solo”, with the help of some distinguished session musicians. The second album – “Spellbound” - was released in 2005 and “Repercussions” was launched in November 2007.
Best compliment
´´Singing Solo offers 12 tracks of magical, soulful melodies in a style which touches on folk, roots and blues..................Sarah´s voice...has the clarity of Dido´s and the soul of Eva Cassidy´s.´´ Dan Irwin, Kentish Gazette, December 2004.
´´Those who have seen Reed live will testify to her ability to captivate an audience and create an atmosphere in which her vocals and stage presence seem to take on a magical resonance........here she presents a twelve-song confessional with an equally strong sense of intimacy........There is a poigniancy and directness in the album´s lyrics which makes them all the more powerful, especially when delivered by such a compelling voice......Sumptuously arranged throughout, Reed has produced a stunning debut which satisfies on continuously discovered new levels. Singing Solo, yes, and certainly in a class of her own.´´
Phil Davis, Backlash Magazine, Issue Three, Summer ´05
What a fabulous album!!!!!!!! .......one of those rare occasions when I finish a CD and have to listen to it again. Straight away. There and then..........Its witty and poinant and I particularly like the way you are able to use repeat lyrics and images througout for a sense of continuity of experience without it becoming at all tedious. You must simply get this out as far and as wide as you can.´´ Tony Birks, Kent.
Congratulations! Your album is amazing.......Wonderful songs, beautifully rendered with such amazing arrangements - truly a privilege to listen to!´´ John Smith, Kent.
We were on CDBaby.com listening to many different snippets from many different artists albums, and then we came across this album from Sarah Reed. The pureness and quality of the vocals were striking from the start, and it seemed to us to be an album that stood out from the others. That was some two months ago, and although we have played that album a lot, we´ve never tired of listening to it. In actual fact, certain songs (eg-´´Drowning´´ and ´´Brimstone Fox´´) have really grown on us.
Sarah Reed has a most beautiful voice that is both emotive, pure, strong and quite clearly of a rare outstanding quality.
In our opinion, Sarah is one of the most promising UK artists we have come across in the past few years. Johnny and Kitty Warnes, Norwich, Uk

Fantastic CD I will now make it a quest to bring you to all I know and many that I don´t This really is good......there´s not a bad track on it....
Watch this space FANTASTIC´´ Ian Trust, Oxon.
´´This is REALLY good stuff!........I do love the strings and the progression of emotions through the sequence of songs. I can hear Bowie influences here and there, a touch of Irish ballad style.......and that lovely haunting quality your voice has when you do softer, more lyrical songs.´´ Bev Weir, Co.Tyrone.
´´I have played your CD and want to just let you know I think it is excellent. You have a beautiful voice and my husband says you sound exactly like Joan Biaz. Seriously Sarah it is a lovely piece of work.´´ Cathy Godfrey, Sheffield.
´´I hate to tell you this but its bloody good.´´ Glyn Fisher, London.
´´Bloody Hell!!!!! Very Impressive!!!!!´´ Walter Swan, Hull.
