Full Bio
My first introduction to music was playing violin. Through out my school years I played lead violin in the school and the local area orchestra.
I began writing music in my early teen`s, using a BBC B Micro computer. I produced a lot of cover versions and original music using those 8-bit sounds. Then I discovered MIDI and the Atari ST. With borrowed synths, drum machine and four track recorder I produced many tracks.
For several years I wrote with the indie band, `Pavlov`. We released the `Hailstone ep` on a 7`` in 1991 and our cover of `Blue Eyes` appeared on a tribute to The Wedding Present CD.
Using the moniker `DJP` I continued to compose my own mix of techno, house and electronica. For around two years I DJ-ed on Internet radio station gaialive.com.
These days I`m using a PC running music sequencing software, virtual synths and samplers and creating new music. Inspired by my Classical music training the compositions are multi-layered, structured and melodic. I`ve a distinctive sound and feel for music production having over 18 years experience.
I`ve made over two hours of my music available for free download through various netlabels. In the past year I have done several soundtrack jobs for animation, including the Cannes nominated `Magic Cat` for the Discovery Channel (Nexus Productions).
In November 2006 I released the ``Chamber Electronica EP1 for Vocal and Violin samples`` as a digital download. The EP is a ‘concept’ piece - using the same set of samples for each track, in much the same way that Classical Chamber music is scored.

These days I`m using a virtual studio on a PC to produce my music. In the past couple of years I`ve had work creating the soundtrack for several animations, including the Cannes nominated `Magic Cat` for the Discovery Channel (Nexus Productions). I`ve also made over two hours of my music available for free download through various netlabels.
