Michael Ruberu´s music is a crisp Indian Ocean breeze on the overheated brains of humanity.
Michael loves life, and fights for everyone’s or everything’s right to have fun while you’re alive here on earth. Having lived all over the world, Michael finds that everybody wants to have a Sri Lankan tan like his...because it is both beautiful and UV Resistant.
To make such beautiful music, Michael has sacrificed good grades, scholastic recognition, academic scholarships, and possible career advantages to earn over $200,000.00 per year…all unacceptable qualities within the community where he shops for curry powder and Seeni Sambol.
No one knows this, but Michael helped evacuate a hospital when the city he lived in was flooded. He was later featured on a newspaper story but the hospital had to hide his identity for insurance reasons. Michael still waits for the thank you card they promised him...
The nicest thing anyone said about Michael´s music was from a 10 year old girl that wrote,´´Dear Mr. Ruberu, if there was more music like yours on this planet, it would be a more peaceful place.´´
Michael´s scariest moment was after a university gig, where a mob of female foreign exchange students from Japan chased him right into a lecture hall. Michael was able to bail out a ground floor window with his guitar. Michael now has reservations about touring Japan.
When discussing labels, Michael really doesn’t know if he is Indie, but he does know that when he lived in India, he always wore his Sri Lanka shirt on match day!
Finally, Michael´s heart is in one place more than anywhere else...and that is in the lives of sufferring children. As an upcoming artist, Michael has plans for redistribution of his future success to meaningful children’s causes. Essentially his efforts will be to help save their lost childhoods, and in turn save our world from collapse.

Michael Ruberu has a deep love for children´s charities. His ambition is to enter into war torn areas and rebuild necessary services for the children, and establish centres of care. Michael believes that by providing God-like love to the children, they will have a better shot at life, and will eventually become more tolerant adults that will not follow in the violent foot steps of their ancestors.

If God allows Michael and his wife Katie the opportunity to touch every child´s life, They are both committed to spending the rest of their lives doing that work.

So far benefit work is planned in Nov ´08 with the Rotary Club in Colombo. The planned event will help establish a girls orphanage as well as contributing to cancer treatments for impoverished children.
